The PSD status is locked

Long description: Your meter has to communicate regularly with the Postal Service. Some machines have to connect between 1 day and 90 days depending on the machine type and your local postal service regulations. Failure to connect may result in the postage meter (PSD) being locked
Recovery: Please perform a Postal Inspection

  • Models:

    IS-280, IS-330, IS-350, IS-420, IS-440, IS-460, IS-480, IS-5000, IS-6000

    DPA-03-023 or PSD-03-023 “PSD Locked” message.

    You have reached the USPS 90 day security timeout. This occurs if the Mailing System has not connected to the funding server in a 90 day period.                          
    - USPS regulations require that your meter must be reset or communicate with the server at least once every three months.
    - If you wish to avoid a "PSD locked" error message, you can perform a Postal Inspection at any time prior to the timeout.


    To perform a Postal Inspection on the IN/IM/IS Mailing Systems do the following:

    1. Press the "MENU" button.
    2. Select, "My Funds".
    3. Select, "Postal Inspection".
    4. Press the "OK" button to confirm.
    5. Mailing system will contact the server to perform the inspection.
    - The mailing machine will indicate when the call is complete.
    6. Press the "Home" button to return to the home screen.

    Note: An analog phone line or LAN connection must be connected to the mailing system to perform a Postal Inspection.
